I was born in Zimbabwe. I spent the last 30 years living in England but recently made another life-changing decision, upped sticks and moved to Malaysia. I spent all my school years and the early part of my career as a Chartered Civil Engineer in Africa.

I am, as my profile suggests, a traveller, reader and writer. I'm also an equestrian with a history of heading off on horseback for hours at a time and a little modest success in local show jumping and dressage competitions. I've done ballet and ballroom and Latin dancing and I don't need a single drop of alcohol in me to get me on a dance floor.

Although I'm a civil engineer specialising in highway design, I have, at various stages of my career, also been a technical author. While living in Zimbabwe I was employed by a consultant to the Ministry of Water Development producing and publishing operation and maintenance manuals for existing dams in the country. I write regular technical articles and blogs for the website of a company that manufactures composite structural decking and proof-read/write copy for their internal documentation, newsletters, customer information brochures and business documents.

I'm pleased to say I have just produced my first novel. Chimurenga has been published by The Book Guild and is available to buy as a paperback or Kindle version. https://www.diariesofanondiarist.com/chimurenga-a-novel
